On a sunny Saturday morning, June 17 at 10 am PHT, 20 of our dedicated employees embarked on a remarkable adventure to Masungi Georeserve, nestled in the heart of Baras, Rizal. This excursion was part of our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and our desire to make a positive impact on our surroundings.
The highlight of the day was the Legacy Trail Activity, a multi-faceted experience that immersed us in the wonders of nature. From exhilarating treks and challenging hikes to indulging in locally prepared culinary delights, our time at Masungi Georeserve was nothing short of extraordinary. The activity spanned over six hours, filled with exploration, education, and an incredible sense of fulfillment.
As we ventured through the trails, we were captivated by the diverse flora and fauna that called Masungi Georeserve home. The lush greenery, towering trees, and vibrant colors enveloped us, providing a breathtaking backdrop for our journey. It was a humbling reminder of the delicate balance of nature and the importance of preserving it for future generations.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the Legacy Trail Activity was our participation in tree planting and nurturing. With great care and enthusiasm, we collectively nurtured 20 trees, each one symbolizing our dedication to the environment and the desire to leave a lasting legacy. It was a beautiful act of giving back to nature and a small but significant step towards a greener and healthier planet.
Throughout our adventure, we were accompanied by the knowledgeable and passionate Forest Rangers, Alvin and Nilbert. Their expertise and guidance were invaluable, enhancing our understanding of the ecological significance of Masungi Georeserve. Their commitment to environmental preservation was truly inspiring, and we are immensely grateful for their contribution to our experience.
Masungi Georeserve itself is a haven of conservation, situated amidst the captivating southern Sierra Madre range in Baras, Rizal, just a short distance from Tanay, Rizal, and approximately 47 kilometers (28 miles) east of Manila. At its heart lies the majestic Masungi Rock, standing tall at an elevation of 640 meters (2,100 feet). This pristine natural paradise is home to over 400 species of flora and fauna, showcasing the remarkable biodiversity that thrives within its protected boundaries.
The Sierra Madre Mountain Range, which embraces Masungi Georeserve, serves as the backbone of Luzon, shielding us from the fury of strong typhoons. Understanding the pivotal role this mountain range plays in our lives, we are proud to be part of an organization that actively contributes to the conservation of such invaluable biodiversity.
