Robert Swan once said, “The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it.” Here at NarraSoft, we believe that we can all be a part of the solution. To support our ongoing cause of helping maintain a clean environment, a successful clean-up drive was conducted at MRR Street Pineda in Pasig City. We aim to promote environmental awareness and encourage individuals and organizations to take action in preserving and protecting the planet through our small initiatives.
This initiative brought together the NarraSoft management team, along with the City Environment and Natural Environment Resources Office team of the Local Government Unit of Pasig City, to clean up the Pasig River.
Our team was ready with gloves, trash bags, rakes, broomsticks, and other cleaning tools and worked tirelessly from early morning until they collected approximately 10 sacks, or a total of 1,855 kg of trash. The team’s unwavering determination, despite the heat and challenging task, was truly inspiring.
During the clean-up drive, the team segregated plastic trash and handed it over to the Materials Recovery Facility of Pasig City for recycling, promoting proper waste disposal, and reducing plastic waste in landfills and the ocean. The materials used during the clean-up drive were also donated to the Pasig City government, which conducts clean-ups every week, highlighting how individuals and organizations can work with the government to create a sustainable environment.
After a long and productive day, the team ended the clean-up drive with a delicious lunch at The Racks, which was a great way to unwind and celebrate their accomplishments. This project showed how a small group of individuals could create a positive impact on the environment by working together and taking small steps to promote sustainability.
This clean-up drive was a resounding success, demonstrating how collective action can make a significant difference in the environment. With more projects like this, we can work towards a cleaner and more sustainable environment, not only in Pasig City but all around the metro and beyond. Kudos to everyone involved in this great initiative!
